In the last couple of years, WhatsApp has added a host of features to its platform and when it comes to what the Facebook-owned app is working on next, it is said that WhatsApp is working on some features which are expected to make the user experience even better.

New WhatsApp features: Swipe to Reply
WhatsApp swipe to reply gesture is one of the most anticipated features coming to the app as it will completely eliminate the need to long press on a message to reply. The Swipe to Reply WhatsApp feature is expected to arrive via a server-side update after which users will simply need to swipe right a particular message to reply. This feature is currently available for only iOS users.
New WhatsApp features: Preview media from notifications
WhatsApp beta users are already using this feature through which they can preview media from their notifications bar itself. Images and videos which are shared with them via WhatsApp can be previewed from a notification, eliminating the need to opening a chat to check all the notifications. Moreover, WhatsApp beta users also have an option to mark their messages read from the notification bar.
New WhatsApp features: Dark Mode
Another highly anticipated WhatsApp feature, the Dark Mode feature is currently in the works for WhatsApp users after popular platforms such as Twitter and YouTube have already introduced dark mode. While Facebook Messenger will be coming out with a similar feature soon, the dark mode feature for WhatsApp is expected to look similar to how it looks on Windows Phone while it will also be easy on your eyes as well as your smartphone’s battery.

WhatsApp has recently rolled out the group description feature along with introducing more controls for group admins. Now, the platform has made a new “more” button available on its beta version for group members. This new option shows a list of ten WhatsApp group members and if you need to see the entire list, you can tap on the “more” button.
